More Auction Treasures!!!

Today, I went along with my husband to my first farm auction.  It was a small one, and it was also wet, muddy and cold.  Now that my feet are starting to warm up, it was worth it.  I was too nervous to bid on anything myself, so I told my husband what I wanted and how much I was willing to pay.  The one thing that caught my eye as soon as I walked up to the wagons, were three bundles of linen seed sacks!  Beautiful!  Once he won them, I was weak in the knees.  It really was exciting.   The weave and colours are gorgeous!  Here are a few of the ones I managed to get washed.

This is my favorite!

They get really wrinkled when they come out of the wash.  I've got a few projects in mind for these and hope to put them on the selling blog.

  1. I miss going to auctions, I remember the nerves bidding and the excitement of winning, every time.

  2. You did indeed get lucky!
    I love what you won!

  3. Nice finds partner! Cant wait to see what you make with them, heehee

  4. Yes, I will agree with you... awesome treasures! I love those old feed sacks too. Oh so many things I'm thinking you could do with those... have fun!

  5. Lori I know exactly how you feel about not bidding, I was that way the first couple auctions I went to but not anymore. I'm sure my hubby would like me to be that way again.

Love your feed sacks, farm auctions are my favorite!

  6. These feed sacks are awesome. They would make great pillows too.

  7. I remember my grandmother talking about wearing flour sack dresses - maybe they weren't as coarse as the feed sacks! They would look neat stretched and framed...

I appreciate and look forward to each and every comment!
