Yes, I have been MIA for a while. I've just been so busy with so many things. I know a few followers, namely family members, will enjoy not looking at the Easter picture anymore. LOL. Today though, I didn't really work on anything that was too pressing. We have actually had a string of days that have been beautiful, and no rain. My husband has been working overtime to get all the crops planted. We are very far behind up here because of wet spring. I brought the kids swimming at Heather's today and they had a blast! They are already asking when they can go back. Peonies are just starting bloom so I picked this bunch for my kitchen table. They smell so good! My dark pink bushes will be blooming when the white ones are done. I just want to apologize for being away for so long and thanks for sticking around. I can't say I'll be around an awful lot to post, but I'll try.
three boys,
moved into our 'new' home in October/09.
It is my goal to prim this house up, one corner at a time.

More Auction Treasures!!!
Today, I went along with my husband to my first farm auction. It was a small one, and it was also wet, muddy and cold. Now that my feet are starting to warm up, it was worth it. I was too nervous to bid on anything myself, so I told my husband what I wanted and how much I was willing to pay. The one thing that caught my eye as soon as I walked up to the wagons, were three bundles of linen seed sacks! Beautiful! Once he won them, I was weak in the knees. It really was exciting. The weave and colours are gorgeous! Here are a few of the ones I managed to get washed.
This is my favorite!
They get really wrinkled when they come out of the wash. I've got a few projects in mind for these and hope to put them on the selling blog.

Swap Package Received Today!
I received my swap from Faye at Primitive Lace today! This was from the "So you, So me" swap that Tammy from A Primitive Place put on. I love everything so much Faye. Thank You!!! She sent me a beautiful doll (so her) and a set of pineapple stitched coasters, a star checked cloth and a yummy smelling little star (so me).
The coasters are made by Karen of My Colonial Home.
This is my first prim doll. I love her!
While the mail man was at it, he also delivered one of the blog giveaways that I had won. It was the beautiful earrings from Primitive Post. They were donated by Dreamy Vintage. They really are so pretty.
Hope everyone is having a great day. It's a little on the wet side were, but the temps are just right!

My husband surprised me with another antique!!
He brought home an antique from a farm auction today. He knows I really want an old platform scale, with a wood platform. His parents have a beautiful one that I drool over whenever I am there. When he called me and told me he bought one, I was a little scared. Around here, these things go for a pretty penny and I knew that was not in the budget at this time. But this one was in the budget because he got it for $15. It needs a little cleaning, painting, some fabricating, and some TLC. I love it already though. It's dated 1905. He's getting pretty good at this.
I also have forgotten to mention something. Heather and I have entered our selling blog in a contest here on the web. It is being put on by the Sunburnt Cow Handmade Shop. The rest of the contestants are very talented. Wish us luck!!!!

My Winnings from The Prairie Patch
I received my package in the mail yesterday from Tracy's giveaway at The Prairie Patch! I knew what this box was when I picked it up from the post office without even looking at the mailing address, just from the scent. So many wonderful goodies and a few extras too! Thanks so much Tracy!! Now to find homes for everything.

The show was a success
A few weeks ago, Heather and I started a selling blog. In celebration of this, we had an open house this evening. We put a lot of work into it and are so happy with how it went. Many friends and family came out to support us and I can not express how grateful we are that they did. Thank you!!! We sold out of a few items and have taken orders for more. So overwhelming, in a good way!

Hallway Makeover
In keeping with my mission statement, I am making progress, I think, at making this home prim, one corner at a time. I have never really been happy with the look of the hallway. It leads to the bedrooms and main bath, from the living room. I have had this dry sink for many years. I didn't have room for it at my old house, so my mother kept it in her home for me, until we moved in here. I have been sitting on the fence whether or not I want to paint it. I would go black, if I did. It's a reproduction piece and not an antique. So, without further ado, here are the photos.
Before: Man, I had a lot going on there. LOL
I think I found a safe home for my redware piece from my Aunt. *fingers crossed*

After: I gave this shelf a makeover. It was given to me by a neighbor. I just painted it black.
Before: Closer look
After: I left a little room for some of the things I've won in the blog giveaways, when they get here.I think I found a safe home for my redware piece from my Aunt. *fingers crossed*
I hope everyone is having a great day! The sun is shining here.

Jam Packed Post
This has been such a busy weekend. I have so much to accomplish, and it's Sunday already. There were not enough hours in this weekend. But priority first, I've got a few things to blog about and have been wanting to do it for the last two days. On Saturday, I did some prim shopping! My Aunt Sharon has the best house you have ever seen! I love everything about it. Every now and then, she gathers a few things and we get to go shopping. Heather and I are lucky to share this same Aunt. She posted some things that she bought too. Here is what I brought home.
My first piece of hand made redware. I love this piece so much. I've already express to the boys, how much I love this plate and how sad I will be if anyone happens to break it. LOL
A spoon rack!
My very first yellow ware bowl! I love the brown! I do believe this will be the first piece to my future collection.
And, in the words of the Mike and Frank, from the American Pickers, "The Honey Whole"!!! This huge box of fabric pieces. Oh, the things I can sew!
Thanks so much Aunt Sharon!!! I absolutely love everything I brought home.
Now, moving on, the two winners from our giveaway received their packages. Our first prize winner was Brenda at The Rusty Thimble. Here are her winnings.
And second prize was Linda at Meadowbrook Cabin. Here are her winnings.
I want to thank everyone who entered, again. We had so much fun with this giveaway. Now, I'm off to try and check a few more things of my list today. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
